St Claire's Care Home
The care home is registered with CQC for 39 beds. All of the rooms are furnished with colour TV's, wash basins and nurse call points. All rooms comply with the standards required as stated in the Care Standards Act. All residents are encouraged to keep personal items or furniture with them so as to create a homely environment.
There are two passenger lifts in operation at all times. There are four lounges which offer a relaxing environment in which to watch television, listen to music, chat, etc. There is a dining room which is popular with residents and overlooks a small garden. Bathrooms are fitted with hoists to ensure ease and comfort. There are two secluded gardens which are accessible for wheelchair users and all residents.
Services Provided
All meals are carefully prepared to cater for all resident's tastes, providing a nutritious and well-balanced diet. Meals are freshly prepared in our kitchen and there is a choice of main dishes and desserts. Afternoon tea and cakes are served mid-afternoon and beverages and snacks are available at all times!
Personal preferences are taken into account and special diets such as diabetic, high-fibre diet, purée etc. are catered for in conjunction with the advice from doctors and dieticians. Meal times are seen as social occasions and residents are therefore encouraged to eat in the dining room, however meals may be served in their own rom if they so wish.
The services of the General Practitioner, dentist, physiotherapist, chiropodist, optician, hairdresser and aromatherapist are available regularly in the home. Personal clothing is laundered on the premises.
Activities
Activities are encouraged here to stimulate the residents - physically, psychologically and socially. We like our residents to have fun and this promotes interaction with other residents.

The manager demonstrates strong leadership and the staff are actively encouraged to undertake training and courses so that they can carry out the day to day work in a competent manner. A training manager with the assistance of other trainers in the home ensures that all mandatory training is undertaken.
